The River School receives recurrent funding from both State and Federal governments. In addition, we receive grants, donations and fundraise to achieve our goals. Our school is a member of Independent Schools Queensland, as well as the Small School’s Network, collaborating and lobbying with other like-minded schools.
Enrolment Fees 2017
Early Childhood Centre: $250 p/child
Primary School (Prep – Year 6): $300 p/child
An enrolment is not considered to be finalised until the enrolment fee is paid and the enrolment forms have been received by the office.
In some cases, a waiting list for entry into a particular class may exist. In this circumstance, parents will be notified before enrolment is accepted. To be placed on the waiting list, the enrolment fee must be paid and enrolment forms received by the office.
School Fees 2017
Early Childhood Centre: $76 per day (All Centrelink and Parenting benefits apply)
Invoices are sent home fortnightly and payments must remain 2 weeks in advance.
Primary School (Prep – Year 6): $1,125 p/term (discounts apply to families – see School Fee Schedule attached below)
School fees in 2017 cover all academic costs, stationery, bus fees, books, art materials and expenses. Invoices are sent home at the start of each term and are payable by the end of the 2nd week of term. Payment plans are available.
Primary School (Prep – Year 6)
A $200 Energy levy charge is invoiced per family at the start of every term. This energy levy can be paid by the end of term or “worked off” volunteering at the school during the term.
Each family is asked to contribute 2 hours per week (or 20 hours per term) volunteering in some capacity to work off this energy levy. One hour of volunteering equates to $10 off the energy levy invoice.
Parents at our school work off their energy levy in a variety of ways including:
▪ Participation in working bees
▪ Volunteering in the classroom
▪ Serving on school committees
▪ Helping with festivals and fundraising activities
▪ Volunteering to help on excursions and school camps
▪ Teaching an elective
Parents need to register the number of hours worked by logging the time in a register kept in the office.
Occasional other costs are also incurred during the year for Arts Council and related activities, school camps and excursions. These are paid as they occur.
